Alto Limay is a joint project between Paul Hobbs Imports and Familia Schroeder to explore and develop Patagonia pinot noir.
Youthful and fresh, nuanced and expressive, Alto Limay Pinot Noir explores frontier winemaking in Patagonia, where wind is one of the dominating elements in winegrowing.
The Limay river joins the Neuquén river to form the Rio Negro, which flows to the Atlantic Ocean and separates Patagonia from the Pampas. The pristine Limay river flows from the Andes mountain snows and has some great fly fishing.
The vineyards are located in San Patricio del Chañar, in the province of Neuquén, and with a short growing season, Pinot Noir is perfectly suited to this region.
